Open Origin, right-click BF3, and select "Repair Install". Do you have a firewall that may be blocking it?

If that doesn't work, maybe do a complete uninstall / reinstall of the game Sad

Hmm not sure, have you googled "cant install bf3 patch 2" and see if anyone has had the issue and found a fix? Just did a quick search and found this post.
