Here's my dilemma. Downloaded(on steam) COD: Modern Warfare. Game installed but there was a problem with Punkbuster. Can play multi player but only servers without PB. Uninstalled PB. My question is where do I go to download PB at? Do I have to attach download to my game or will it automatically recognize program? Never had a problem before. Thanks for any suggestions. If you could could you walk me step by step with this procedure? Thanks again.13 out. Smile

You can download PB Setup from here -> http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php  [Instructions provided at the link.]

:additional:  Steam's PB FAQ -> https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3613-UEMQ-0153

Hope that helps

Went  to evenbalance. Downloaded file. When I  open file it goes right to windows media center. ?? Not sure what to do here. Kept trying to reinstall . When I open right  back to windows media center. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here.

1. Can you right click on the pbsetup.zip you downloaded and choose "Extract" or "Extract All" from the context menu? Then you should have pbsetup.zip and pbsetup.exe <-- right click on the new pbsetup.exe and choose "Run".

-----------

2. I'm not sure why .zip files seem to be associated with windows media center on your machine.  [That's what I think you're saying].  If the above doesn't work and my assumption here is true, the easiest way to correct the file association problem not knowing which version of windows you're using is to install a 3rd party archiver 'zip' program which will change the associations to the newly installed dedicated archiver.  While Windows has natively handled zip files from Xp onward, I believe that is the only archive type it handles natively.  There are many archive types so having a dedicated program that will handle all types is a good thing.  I would suggest either 7-Zip -or- PeaZip both are Free and Opensource. [choose only one]

7-Zip >>> http://www.7-zip.org/
Peazip >>> http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/peazip/4.5.1/peazip-plain-4.5.1.WINDOWS.exe?r=http%3A%2F%2Fsourceforge.net%2Fprojects%2Fpeazip%2Ffiles%2F4.5.1%2F&ts=1338737052&use_mirror=voxel

If you go this route, once the program is installed  right click on the pbsetup.zip you downloaded and choose 7-Zip or or Peazip then "Extract Here"  "Extract" or "Extract All" from the context menu. Then you should have pbsetup.zip and pbsetup.exe <-- right click on the new pbsetup.exe and choose "Run".
