My system currently has an Add-in card from logitech with 5.1 surround sounds speakers from creative hooked up, which is AWESOME.  But as most of the husbands will agree with me, our wives dont like heard a war going on in the next room so I want to purchase headsets, but I really dont wanna spend too much money.

Here are the ones Im looking at, any thoughts:

My personal rating system on interest.

1. Corsair CA-9011111-WW

2. Creative Labs 51MZ0310AA005

3. Rosewill RHTS-8206

Now if you have something that is the same price range with the same features I would be interested to hear about them, just keep in mind that I have a BIG head(no comments from the peanut gallery) and the ones that wrap around the back of your head wont fit.

Thanks in advance.

Tritton ax pros all the way. Best bang and sound for the buck. I do have a used pair for sale for 60.00 if you like. They are a true 5.1, 4 speakers in each cup not vibrating subs which alot of 5.1's have ( cheaper 1's anyway )    here's the link  Tritton

I just got a new set a few weeks ago. I don't care for the big ear muff type because I also like to hear what's going on in the house too. ie: hear my wife coming up the stairs. Laughing
I bought Logitech Gaming Headset G330 and quite like them. You can plug them in by USB or use the regular plugs. Not sure if there's a differene in which you use though. They're light and comfortable with good sound. Not very expensive either.

I have had the Creative Fatal1ty set for some time now, and love them.  I like the fact you can remove the mic.

And what's wrong with clamping a bass speaker to each ear with some cable ties? Wink

I would like a set with a removable mic ... though I'm currently pricing together the bits for an i7 rig (and I know its over-powered just for gaming).

I use this headset. Very cheap, removable mic, individual controls for front, back, center, and bass, as well as overall volume, fit's a lot of different head sizes, and sounds great.

Ultra 5.1 Gaming Headset

Just be advised, if you plug the USB cable for power into the tower USB you will most likely get feedback buzzing. I use a spare powered USB hub to power mine with no buzzing.

May be more than you're looking to spend, but I have a set of Roccat Kave 5.1's and I lvoe them. after much research, it came down to the Kaves, or Tritton 590's.  EXCELLENT sound localisation, 3 seperate 40mm speakers in each large, comfy earcup ( plus whatever size it uses for the bass). Fits my big noggen. Detachable mic.

I found mine for $90 CAD.

I also found the Corsairs and Rosewills get high praise during my research. In my experience, Rosewill is really hit-and-miss.. either their products are awesome, or horrible. No in-between.

If your budget gets increased, I highly recommend the Razer Megalodon headset.
The cheapest I could find it right now is $106 on Amazon,  but they rock.

Logitech G35 here, I absolutely love it. The surround sound on it works really well, it's comfortable for me, it's reliable and so far I do see one point that worries me as far as breaking but so far it's held up well for able 6 months now. Hands down it's the best headset I've ever owned and I will continue to buy similar headsets in the future.

Typically,...anything heavy, expensive and made by a company that's been in business for more than 10 years is usually the best...

Just save your receipt.
