Does anyone have experience with using this? Tried to turn my old BF2 computer into a nas, since getting it out of the corner I realized it still had 660gb of hdds on it.

Wouldn't boot windows XP that was on the ide 160gb drive said "Error loading OS"

so disconnected that, installed nas4free, worked fine, shut it down
wouldn't boot.

reformatted/reinstalled worked fine again had drives set up on network etc, loaded movies onto Disk 1. and some music on Disk 2. (os was installed on disk 1)
shut it down for night
wouldn't boot (stuck again at Boot from CD.... but no cd in drive) still wouldn't boot from hdd.

reformatted/reinstalled on disk 2 (files on disk 1 still intact), was working fine, started installing minidlna, had to reboot server.
Back to won't boot...

I'm stuck, and not enough experience to figure it out on my own. Posted on nas4free forums but i'm impatient so putting feelers out all over for info lol.

Just an idea but if its a old pc the mobo battery may have gone so keep loosing bios info

Not sure if this would even be an issue but its something to consider

If that were the case you could still continue to boot by hitting F1 or F2. Try disconnecting everything except a known working Windows installation and give it a shot. If still no luck disconnect that one and try the other Windows install. Also, since these are ide drives, check your jumper settings on all of the drives. You may also want to head to your bios and check boot orders and disable unused things like the floppy drive.

There is no windows install on this system, I think the controller is dead, lol it's an Abit mobo they don't even exist as a company any more

probably going to salvage the hdds, at least the two sata ones, the ide one might be screwed too.
