Scrapple comes in blocks, but not in a can.  It doesn't taste like spam, kinda like grits with a sausage taste.

I don't care for grits much. Hate livermush. Love that southern salty bacon and ham even though you have to have gravy with it to tone down the salty flavor. SPAM is probably better.
In a Zombie Apocalypse it would be great.

Update...
             Scrapple is typically made of hog offal, such as the head, heart, liver, and other trimmings, which are boiled with any bones attached (often the entire head), to make a broth.
             I'm sure the traditional "Hot Dog" is something like this too.
