Apparently an  acronym for "Bring Up My Post".  Just a way to get a forum thread to the top of the new Threads list,  without actually contributing. But  one could argue  that the bump itself,  it's a contribution...

Although this definition is accurate,  I'm guessing the "acronym" came before  the term.  Internet lingo is a strange beast.
