Just installed it on one of my laptops yesterday.  Haven't gotten to play with it much but my initial reaction is this:  This isn't Vista?

Windows 7 is a fix of the back end of vista. When companies work on operating systems rather Microsoft of Apple the user interface is the last thing they work on. Keep your eye out of up dates.

Couldn't get it installed at first.  Then I discovered none of the operating systems I have for that laptop would boot.  Then I discovered I couldn't get ANY new OS installed.  Then I finally discovered one of the sticks of ram had died.  Now, win.

Dual Boot?

Anyone tried it yet? I downloaded it but dont want to do the full upgrade, incase anything happens. Would rather go the dual boot route. That way I don't trash my main computer in case something should happen.

I am running duel boot. my win 7 is on a separate hard drive I wouldn't partition a hard drive and put it on it. in case it dies I can still use my computer and either reformat the hard drive or try and repair it. Microsoft doesn't recommend this so beware, but I have been running the beta as a duel boot and now the RC no known issues.

how do you dual boot, just install on a seperate hard drive or a partition of a hard drive? I have an old hard drive that probably has a 3 month - year life span in it. If I was going to try the RC should I use that one, or I can put it on another 80 gig hard drive i havnt used yet.

Yes you can install OS on different hard drive or partition.  If you are using XP it must be installed first so that you can choose which OS to use during computer boot up.  Right now I am tri-booting with XP32, Vista64 and Win7_64.  I installed XP first then Vistal then Win7.  I am about ready to re-image and just use XP and Win7.  That is all on the same hard drive but you can do it on different hard drives.  Make sure XP is installed first if you still want to use XP.
