I've been online listening to the wonderful recipes our members make up (some even so delicious sounding that about five of us, one evening, had to go and get something to eat because everything sounded sooooooooo tasty)!!!  

How about posting your favourite recipe here?

Try to give it a battle name!!!  or a weapon name!!!  or a what it will do to your enemy name!!!  or a how it will save all your troops name!!!

Have fun and eat well!!!!

" The Thunder from Down Under"   WARNING - may cause players to RUN......  Laughing

2 Kangaroo rump steaks, sliced thinly - add 4 tablespoons of Red Thai Curry paste - Cook in Wok on high for 2 minutes.
Add 1 cup coconut cream, carrots, snow peas, bell peppers, onion and a sprinkle of freshly chopped red Thai chilies - Simmer for 8 minutes.
Remove from heat - stir through fresh Bok Choy and serve over Thai rice Noodles with Lemon Grass and enjoy with an ice cold beer

There is a show here in Las Vegas called The Thunder from Down Under.........I have not seen it but, I hear there is a bounty of "Kangaroo Rump"  o.O

Peanut Butter (or Almond Hazelnut Butter) Cannon Balls

These are great for a quick pick me up healthy treat... they are filled with protein, vitamins and minerals, but shhhhhh.... don't tell the kids!!!

1 cup all natural nut butter
1 cup liquid honey
1 1/3 cups skim milk powder

Mix all ingredients together.  Roll into balls.  Fire away!  Oops... I mean, enjoy!!!

Rum Grenades

aka Rum Balls

24 oz chocolate chips
1 1/3 cup dark rum
3/4 cup corn syrup
4 cups icing sugar
300 grams ground almonds
2 boxes Mr Christie's vanilla wafers
300 grams chocolate sprinkles

Crumble vanilla wafers.
Melt chocolate.
Into melted chocolate, blend in syrup, sugar and rum (alternating sugar and rum).
Add ground almonds and crumbled vanilla wafers.
Dip fingers into rum, roll balls, squish/roll chocolate sprinkles on.

If you have more than two of these at a time, do not drive your tank, because, well, you'll be... tanked.  ha ha Smile

Start with
1 pound hamburger
1/2 cup diced onion
1 TSp Garlic powder
(cook together & strain excess grease, put in large mixing bowl)

1 pack medium flour tortilla's (I use low carb made by Mission - Diabetic friendly)
1 large can Rosarita Enchilada sauce (Red or green, your preference)
2 2 cup bags of shredded cheese, (I like using the "Mexican" blend)

coat bottom of an ungreased baking dish with sauce
mix 90% of the remaining sauce with hamburger and 1 cheese package
tear tortilla's to cover bottom of dish (like lasagna noodles)
layer 1/2 hamburger mix
layer tortilla's
put remainder of burger mix on top
cover with tortilla's
drizzle remaining sauce on top
cover tortilla's with last package of cheese

bake approx 20 min @350 or until cheese is all melted (bake dish uncovered)

Marius, that sounds delicious!!!  What can we call them?  Tortilla somethings?  Tortilla Tomahawks?  Hot bombs?  Ideas?

Uh oh, the tank overturned and everything is upside down with Peaches and Cake in it!!!  Peaches and Cake, a Medic should be arriving soon!  Here's just the right recipe for this inauspicious occasion!

Upside-Down Peach Cake Recipe (not my recipe, but sounds good!!!)


TOTAL TIME: Prep: 15 min. Bake: 45 min. + cooling MAKES: 8 servings

Ingredients
3/4 cup butter, softened, divided
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 cups sliced peeled fresh peaches
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1-1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk

Nutritional Facts
One piece equals 386 calories, 19 g fat (11 g saturated fat), 75 mg cholesterol, 347 mg sodium, 53 g carbohydrate, 1 g fiber, 4 g protein.

Directions
Melt 1/4 cup butter; pour into an ungreased 9-in. round baking pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Arrange peach slices in single layer over sugar.
In a large bowl, cream sugar and remaining butter until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. Spoon over peaches.
Bake at 350° for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before inverting onto a serving plate. Serve warm. Yield: 8 servings.

Here's my (not so secret anymore) chili recipe;  ** this is the first time that I've ever written it out. I usually go by sight  Wink **

BTW, this will make quite a large pot and I usually freeze several portions for later.

MEAT;
1 lb  lean hamburg
8-10 breakfast sausage (frozen) ** I like to use apple smoked sausage **
2 decent sized chicken breasts
1 decent sized (1/2 to 3/4 lb) round steak
1 med sized (1/2 to 3/4 lb) pork sirloin steak

VEGGIES;
2 good sized fresh tomatoes (go bigger if you love tomato)
1 stalk of chopped celery (approx. 1 cup or so)
2 cups fresh chopped mushrooms (your fav variety)
fresh red, yellow and green bell peppers chopped (approx. 2 cups)
1 large can of red kidney beans (or 2 small cans)
1 large Spanish (red) onion (diced)
1 large yellow onion (diced)
chives (how ever much you like)   Wink
2 cloves garlic chopped finely
2-3 jalapeno peppers (chopped)

SPICES;
1 tablespoon ground cumin
good healthy pinch of oregano
1/4 cup chili powder (or you can use crushed chilies depending on your preference)
1 tablespoon fresh ground pepper
pinch of ground cayenne pepper (or too taste  Wink )
1 teaspoon salt


DIRECTIONS;
in a deep frypan, cook hamburg until 3/4 cooked and drain fully (press in paper towel to remove as much grease as possible)
cut frozen sausage into bite sized pieces (approx. 1 inch long pieces)
cut chicken into pieces (across the grain of the meat)
cube the pork and beek steaks
put all into the frypan and add cayenne and chili pepper to the meat, cook slowly and fully.

Put all veggies and remaining spices into a large pot and begin cooking over med heat.

When veggies are approx. half cooked add in the meat and cover and simmer on low until everything is fully cooked (approx. 2 hrs or so)

***IMPORTANT***:::FREEZE IT FIRST!!!   (this blends the flavors)  After it has been frozen over night let it thaw in the fridge, reheat and serve with grated cheese of your choice on top. The chicken will completely break up and help to thicken your chili.

Here's a favorite of ours... we know just how to serve a good helping of our favorite beef...

HAMBURGER STEAKS WITH ONION GRAVY
1lb. ground beef
1 egg
1/3 cup bread crumbs
1/2tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1 clove garlic minced
1tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1tbsp. oil
1 1/2 cup thinly sliced onion
2tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 cup beef broth
1/2tsp. salt

In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, pepper, salt, onion powder, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce. Form into thick patties.
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the patties and onion in the oil until patties are nicely browned. Remove the beef patties to a plate, and keep warm.
Sprinkle flour over the onions and drippings in the skillet. Stir in flour with a fork, scraping bits of beef off of the bottom as you stir. Gradually mix in the beef broth. Season with seasoned salt. Simmer and stir over medium-low heat for about 5 minutes, until the gravy thickens. Turn heat to low, return patties to the gravy, cover, and simmer for another 15 minutes. Serve with a big bowl of mashed potatoes
