I guess I paid $40 to play for 2 weeks "early" which IMO is a tad too much but I am really enjoying the game and of course BK comraderie!!!

Yeah...I am glad that I have waited and that really would leave a sour taste in my mouth towards EA/Battlefield as whole. Nothing like paying $60+, knowing you could have waited a couple/few weeks and gotten it 1/2 off.

My guess...based on reviews that I have read is that EA/Origin/BF have turned away quite a few people with this release (not complete, no battle royals mode, etc...) and that means their sales are down and they are trying this to see if it will help the bottom line.

i paid way too much and have only played like an hour so far.  I hate the game.

I love game it is so much better than BF1. No different than any game goes on discount shortly after release for a short time. The only difference in this is there is no other way for EA to make more money on the game. No premium no map packs to sell.
