I know most use blizzard and a few steam on here. I used steam for all games possible until blizzard was released and i believe cod was only available on it for one cod game. ive used it since.  considered going back to steam because all other games i play are on it.    I read you lose cod points if going from blizzard to steam? can anyone confirm?

I lost all my cod points when i went to steam for cod mw2 but i also had an issue where i would be signed out of steam every Tuesday at 9 and also randomly on some other nights and wouldn't be able to get back in for anything up to 2 hours, I've never had that issue with battle.net

Thanks for the replies, I also noticed that games and updates are 5x faster to download on steam idk why. not that it's a huge deal.  sounds like i better stick to blizzard for now. got a lot of cod points still to burn assuming they carry over to the next game

I'm on Steam and thinking about going to Battlenet. Steam looses connection to Battlenet sometimes and kicks me out of the game. I takes anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour for it to re-sink so I can get back into the game.

When I loose connection on Steam, and I rarely do, I always restart it and that works every time for a quick reconnect.

Steam isn't going anywhere in the near future but it will not be THE choice. Why? Because of their EULA you don't actually own the games you purchase on them. This should cause warning to ANYBODY wanting to purchase games on that platform.

that statement is true about any digital purchase the only one i know that offers installers for you to download is GOG via the website, at the end of the day if epic, steam, ubisoft, battle.net or ea decide to close up shop all the game with stop working or be unavailable this include GOG unless you have already downloaded and backed up the installer. the only real change is these companies now have to inform you of this. best example of this in recent times is mario kart no longer has multiplayer, and the crew just no longer works as they closed the servers.

I will also admit i no longer have a disk drive so all the old games i have on disk are no longer any good to me, along with no longer been able to get patches
