Well, I think my disc is corrupted. I uninstalled the game to fix an error and can't reinstall it. I'll get my bro's-in-law disc this weekend and will be back in-game next week sometime (busy life ATM). Until then, it's just the forums for me! Have fun, y'all!

Hope it works out if not I hear you can get some cheep copy on Ebay and the like. If all you need is the disk that should take care of the issue.

Perhaps you may be able to reinstall the game if you go into task manager and shut off all install and uninstall processes before you reinstall the game. The registry is most likely corrupted as far as the game goes but that does not mean that your operating
system has any major problems related to it nor that the hdd has errors. I would back up your entire application data file called Activision. It is under your Low folder. Drag and drop it to a DVD. Then delete manually all of the files related to it in program files and local low files. Then try to install the game. There will still be remnants in the registry, however if you do not know how to Regedit then you might be okay.
I reinstalled my operating system two nights ago just because I was bored and it took 4 hours to get a fresh copy of the game on after I started the OS reinstall. So if you have a lot of troubles just format a good hard drive and put windows on and then the game.
Remember to back up those app data files once a week just to protect yourself against the possibility that Murphy's Law might play a part.
Good luck and do not be afraid to learn. computers are not that hard to figure out.

Perhaps its not completely uninstalled in the first place?  http://www.revouninstaller.com/
Revo is the best tool I've found to date that will remove partially installed/uninstalled applications.  I used to use some "unsupported" tool that MS gave me, but all that did was rip the instance of the application from the windows installer DB.  It didn't correct registry issues, or handle folder/file remnants.  Give Revo a  try?
