I think it's just you.  Nvidia seem to have issue in the mobile market, but their desktop cards always work great.  I've always stayed away from ATi cards as much as possible.

Strand what size is your monitor?

The truth is, both brands work fine. ATI has never given me any trouble. The only difference between the two is that ATI has better visuals, but Nvidia has better framerates. You can't go wrong with either.

Will probably upgrade mobo next month, my pci-e slot is version 1.0 so I am not seeing the full potential of the card yet.


yea I got a big beefy PSU meant for SLI/Crossfire two years back, its a 825w beast, 750w continuous one single 12v rail @ 60A

So thats one thing I dont have to worry about, I also have a very large case so I know I can fit it, I have alot of options to choose from becuase the way I set my PC up, which is never a bad thing.

Actually I think I'm going to hold out on buying a card, I'm really stuck between the 4890 and the 5770.

The 4890 has better performance ratings and is slightly cheaper most places.

While the 5770 run Dx11, runs cooler and is more energy effecient.

So i think I'm going to wait till a Dx11 game comes out and see if the 5770 performance increases as well with newer drivers comming out and Nvidia's batch of Dx11 compatable cards comming out soon.

the 8800 GT is more than enough juice right now for my system and I'll just upgrade my 6 year old LCD monitor to something newer like I showed on the last page, thanks all for the help.
