Well my RMA ATI HD4850 is on its way back and I will be installing it this weekend. I thought it would be a could time to trouble shoot my sound mic problems problems.

[php]Here is the problem. Static and/or distortion in the headphones and TS VOIP. Everything sounds fine when using the speakers. But distortion still in TS. I have Realtek HD Audio on board with front audio ports. Problem seems to occur wether using the front ports or rear ports. Most people I have talked to seems point the problem to a grounding issue. I have used a PCI sound card with same problem, the mother board has been upgraded. To me that kind of eleminates in problems with MB or audio hard ware.

Please post any troubleshooting tips you might have on grounding issues'. PC enclosure is a Antec 900 and power supply is a CoolMax 650

Thanks,

Yes it sounds like a grounding issue; Basically what it does is creates an electronic feedback through your case

The best way to solve this is to make sure your using a Grounded power strip ( 3 pin plug; also i hope your house has 3 pin plugs lol i remember back in the day all the house plugs were only 2 socket ^_^ ) it could also be items such as cellphones that cause this interference.

If you have a reserve power supply try with that one. It could be that the interference is coming from PSU. Lot's of condensers and other electronic components in there that could make and send strange frequencies through your case grounding. One more thing, check if your motherboard screws are tight or if it is secured with plastic snaps try replacing one with a screw to make a better grounding.
