To see what exactly is taking up so much space on my hard drives I use a handy little tool called WinDirStat.  Just install it, fire it up, and point it at the drive you want to check.  For example. I noticed 12 gigs of Picasa2 database files on my system, since I no longer use Picasa2 I was able to delete them to free up some space.
