Okay I was never able to get TS2 to work at work but gave TS3 a try and it works.  I am wanting to get a new headset for home and bring the set I have at home to work.  Looking for some suggestions on what headset would be the best.  Would like a noise reduction headset that way I can tell my wife I cant hear her when she breaks out the honey do list, lol.  Thanks in advance.

Best headset ive every used is the one i use now which is the ABS FX-7's ( USB so it doesn't need a good sound card )

To me headphones are a lot like arm chairs, some just arent meant for you; The best thing to do is to find a store that has some headsets open that allow you to check them out;

A couple reasons for this;

Just as an arm chair might be to small for you, the headphones might be to big or to small for your ears ( although i do recommend the circumaural type or headphones, they tend to block a lot of sound themselves )

Also like in an arm chair sometimes features like vibrating head rest or butt warmers might be useless; there are really expensive headsets out there that have awesome specs and are considered studio quality. which is all fine and well except the fact you cant hear half the sound they put out... ( whats the point in paying for something you'll never use? ) Also there are headsets out there to me that put out to much bass, which in turn gave me a head ache after using them for 10 minutes.

With todays games the most personal option on a computer to me is the headset; in the fact with each persons needs are going to be different. Some people need loud speakers while others need bigger ear holes etc.

Ive never shopped at best buy so i wouldn't know but if they have it so you can try out the headphones i would do so before you spend 100 bucks on a pair that's just as good as a 30 dollar pair.

I use Creative Labs HS-800 Fatal1ty Gaming Headset and I can't say enough good things about them, they are superb:

You can pick them up online for around just $40 are the best bang for the buck in this price range and just as good as much more expensive headsets imo.

I think I will be moving away from Logitech's headsets.  I have bought 2 and both have shorted out.  Although one should not count, water is not good on headsets, lol.  But the other lasted about 6 months and then one day the mic side did not work.  Think I may try the Creative Labs HS-800 Fatal1ty, going to go to PC Direct today after work and see if they have it.

There are two versions, usb and normal cable.  I use the normal cable version as I have a good sound card.  Both are excellent, but if you have a crappy sound card you may want to go with the usb version.

I will be going with the USB model.  I just use the stock sound on my board, SoundMAX ADI AD1988B 8-channel.

I bought the Fatal1ty set with the two plugs.  Mic works fine but no sound.  Running Windows 7 64.  When I go into test the sound nothing from the headset test but a faint sound on the speaker test.  What am I doing wrong?  Sound is turned to max, and I know I have them plugged into the correct port???

I did notice that when you look at the properties of the headset in the sound settings it says that its a front port when the port is located in the back.  When I look at the mic settings it shows the port in the back like it should be.  Is there a way to change how Windows sees the front and rear ports?
