Okay guys, I hate to say this but I feel stupid. I am currently stuck in downtown Milwaukee. Came down for the day with my daughter who is 21 months and was going to head back home (which is 3 hours away) and it started raining. Normally not a problem but just now the wipers stopped working on my car, I at a closed gas station, and I'm not sure what to do. Does anyone live in this area or have any idea on what I can do here? Please call or send a text if you have any advice. 612-991-6551 . Thank you!

Check your fuses...if the just quit real quick like....sounds like a blown fuse.....if it is you'll have to replace it...bad thing there has to be a reason for it to blow....do you have any kind of road service?

Okay, quick update. It stopped raining long enough for me to get back to the museum, so I'm going to stay here for a but until I figure aomething out. It's not a fuse issue as the blades can go up about half way but then stop and won't move again. Probably is the motor for the wipers. I am not having much luck finding a gas station close by, but am going to keep looking. Internet use is limited as well so I might not see posts.

I would look for a pep boys I go there for parts all the time and they also do small fixes like that.

Well, what a trip. Got home about 15 minutes ago. All in one piece though I admit I'm still a bit shook up after the drive. Wasn't able to check the posts after my last message but Psychodad got a text to me and hit the nail on the head. He suggested I try manually moving the wipers while it was running and after a bit they started working. So left Milwaukee around 10pm and missed 3 of my exits, then the rain turned to hail and then snow with high winds giving it a tunnel effect. Was passed by a semi while in a turn and lost control if the vehicle and did a 360 into the median. I'm glad it wasn't the turn I thought I was on or I wouldn't be talking to you right now. After successfully getting back on the road, the snow stopped after about a half hour more of driving.

So here I am and my daughter too, safe and sound. Thank you for all the advice and help. I couldn't have done it without you. And hopefully I will decide to get back in the car within the next month or so. Wink

just now saw your post glad ya got home! heres a tip, my grandpa used a tobbaco plug and rubbed that on the windshield ive used that when i was a kid it kinda works rain x is prolly cheaper

good to hear you got home safely, my wiper motor packed up when it snowed here and i couldnt drive when it was raining till I got another which took almost 2 weeks due to no cash Sad
