Hey all,

I had mentioned this a while back when everyone was playing WaW.

I have some friends that came up with this gametype for COD4. Essentially, you have two teams. One team has a VIP of their selection. The opposing team has to eliminate the VIP.

The team with the VIP picks a building or area on the map to defend, and both team captains decide on a perimiter that the defending team has to stay in. At the start of the match, the defending team has a certain amount of time to set up. It could be 3-5 minutes. The attacking team waits in spawn until the set up time is finished. I believe the round usually lasts for a total of 10 minutes. If the VIP survives the entire time, or if the attacking team is wiped out, the defenders win. The server needs to be set up with no respawns.

It takes a LOT of teamwork, and is bundles of fun. It would be great to even do this between fireteams.

There are a few rules as well:

Crouch only
No spamming through walls unless you have visual conformation, or a teammate tells you where they are.
LMG's can provide covering fire. If a teammate is providing covering fire, you can sprint along that fire to reach cover.
You can also throw smoke into an open area, and then sprint across it to get to the other side.
You can run from nades and direct fire.
No launchers. (that includes grenade launchers)

Each team can only have one Sniper, and one LMG. The rest must use assault rifles or SMGs.

Semi-auto assault rifles can only be used by the sniper.

There may be some more rules that I'm not remembering, but you guys get the general idea of it.

Let me know if you'd be interested in doing this. If we do it, I'd like to start out with a small group of people so that we can get the rules down well. Otherwise it'll be way too chaotic.

Immolation, I agree that sounds like fun. You should talk to Thillion who ussually has special events and between the two of you it would make things easier for scheduling.

Nice

Really sounds like a blast.

I'm familiar with the game style but in a real environment. It was one of the scenarios at a local paintball field in Phoenix.
