Going bush / beach for 4 days with my dog Leo.

Camping on the 90 mile beach near Lake Tyres on the Gippsland Lakes is heaven on earth.
Salmon fishing on the beach at Sunrise then a short hike to the Lake at Midday for Flat Head fishing then back to the beach after dark for Shark fishing. PERFECT.

This area is Aboriginal Sacred Land, my father was taught the Traditional Ceremony for entering this area by an Aboriginal Elder when he was a young man and I have fond memories of him performing it every time we went there.
It is always performed by the elder of the group so I have never performed this ceremony on my own but with his passing this will be an emotional return to a very spiritual and amazing place that my father loved dearly.

So today when I arrive I will perform the ceremony myself and then scatter my fathers ashes at his favourite place on earth then settle in for four days of fishing, hiking and memories.

Cheers,

Karma K

Nice.  Sounds like it'll be fulfilling,  in many ways.

I'd give my left gonad to be alone in the bush for 4 days....

No Koori blood DiggerBaz, My father befriended a Koori Elder in that area when he was a young man, Dad was so taken by what this fella new he spent the next 20 years or so learning from him and then teaching me. And now Dad is at rest there.

Home a day early due to bad weather moving in but WOW. Nothing like disconnecting from civilization to reconnect with your self  Very Happy

Here's a few pics of this magical place.

Can you spot what my Dog is looking at in the last pic ?

Hiking to the beach
Sunset on the 90 Mile beach- time to head back to camp
Where the Lake meets the Ocean.
\ Can you see it ?
