Questions before installing Win10

I had new issues with my pc today. Steam, BF3, BF4, Hardline and my solitare game would not open. Why? None of their shortcuts would open and in Contol Panel highlighting them said could not uninstall because already uninstalled.
I checked system restore and supposedly 5 critical updates where downloaded today while Scubi was playing. My thoughts, the updates corrupted the games.
Sooo, I'm inclined to install windows 10.
Question 1. Any problems if I install Win10 and tell it to save "files, programs etc."?
Question 2. Since I've waited to install Win10 till now, have the driver issues been fixed?
Question 3. Is the difference between DirectX11 and 12 as great as they say?

Thanks guys!

Hey firecracker
When I installed win10 the only issue I had was with my onboard sound card, I had to reinstall the drivers and it solved it for me.

Just to let you now win10 does not come with solitaire it's a app to download and it has ads, someone did make an installer which installs the win7 solitaire games I'll post the link tonight if I get chance.

As for dx12 the game has to support dx12 I believe but I noticed an improvement in how some of my more system heavy game ran and it was a little better

The only major thing I tell people before they upgrade is to go to there mobo website and download the USB 2.0,3.0 and 3.1. Just put them on a thumb drive. Sometimes you lose them during installation and this will save you from major headaches.
