New headset needed

Well after almost 2 years my headset just broke. The plastic that holds the ear cans both broke within a day of each other. Not sure if there is any way to fix them so I am looking for a new set.
What I want it 5.1 NON-USB headset.
Under $100.

I was using a Turtle Beach Ear Force X-52.

They worked really well. It seems like these are still the best for the price.  I might just get another pair. 2 years is a fair time for them to last. Longer then any other I used.
Since I need a new pair I would look at what else is out there.

Any help and recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Anything wrong with usb + amplier + 4 jacks to sound card? I like this turtle beach 5.1 set. 4 speakers in each ear. HPA2 model. retails about 100 bucks but ask TX_RED he gets a seniors discount and know where to get them cheaper.  The X-52 are only about 52 bucks but  I imagine the quality isn't as good.

I also have a tritton set that plugs into outlet but it has never been reliable so I wouldn't recommend that brand.

I do not know about non-usb that are good.

Try the Razer Barracuda.  5.1 and all the plugs for 5.1 sound card connections (not usb).  I like it.  And the mic is good too.  A bit more than what you want to spend but worth it.  Turtle Beach also makes good head sets.

If you can find any plantronics headsets with 5.1 then go with that... But I would suggest not getting 5.1 as it's not needed. Plus you save about 50 bucks.
