Dose anyone know what the subject line is? It seems every since it showed up in my volume mixer as "steam client bootstrapper buildbot winslave04 steam steam rel" my sound is all messed up. I lost my surround sound in my USB head phones I only have stereo and that sounds sick for game sound. I switch my head set back to the on board sound and everything is fine, except my mic has never work with out a bunch of feed back when using the on-board sound for capture.

Any thoughts

did I quick search and found some thing hopefully this helps

if you are running a multi-monitor program (Actual Multiple Monitors, UltraMon, MultiMon, DisplayFusion, etc) -- YOU MUST CLOSE IT BEFORE YOU START STEAM

it seems to be a conflict between steam and multi-monitor software.

try this and see if it works.
