I figured out how to link to the png file.. but I notice that it appear awfully small.

It's not for your avatar... it's for your signature. You put the link in for your avatar. That's why. Make sure when you go to your profile that you click on edit signature. You should get a text box or whatever that you need to put the link in. Make sure that the link is between [IMG] and [/IMG]. So that it looks like [IMG]"link"[/IMG]
