No fault of the game, but I've run into a couple of cheaters already. Sad commentary on the mindset of people when they feel as though they need to cheat to gain an edge on a video game, me thinks. Before anyone says, "There aren't any cheats out yet, it's only a beta." One only has to google for MOH hacks to finds about a billjilliion aim-bots already released. As for the game play, I find myself liking it, it is very fast paced which I don't normally care for. But having been to that area of the world and having done the job portrayed in the game, it is very close to what happens when the poopie hits the rotating blades. The maps appear to be a little too narrow for gameplay, but when you consider that you are on top of a mountain that has very unforgiving terrain, it is what it is.
Points I like:
Compared to life experiences, it has a simulator feel to it
You do move relatively fast even when not in sprint mode
The characters look the part
Plenty of places to put your back into and not need to worry about getting knifed
No Pistol Walkers
What I don't really care for:
Maps are a little tight with too many choke points
No Lean or Prone (I spent so much time in the Army prone that my chest still smells like dirt.)
Weapon balance (Don't try and balance weapons, make a M-16 round and a M-249 hit with the same power, they are the same round)
Rocket and Mortar attacks
Taliban (Opposing Force) does not have UAV's in Theater but does in game (More weapon balance, kid stuff)
Controls feel sluggish
It's not WWII (My favorite genre, if you wanna shoot M-16's at "Opposing Force" try the Marines, they'll let you do it and even pay you for it.)
Even if I were working I probably would not buy it full price, I may pick it up if/when it hits the bargain bin.
If you run, you will only die tired.
