so in light of my original post.  Would this system be better than my current?

Those parts will do you well!!  Glad you went with AMD and Corsair...have not been let down by them yet!  MSI mobos are good but I personally prefer ASUS, but the specs on that MSI mobo are great, so you will not be disappointed!!  Good luck with the build!!!
