I am looking for advice.  Just lately whenever I try and load COD (BO and WAW) the game freezes with the "Not Responding" message.

Gforce 9400 GT card (drivers up to date)
2.4  Intel Quad Core
3 Mg RAM

have you upgraded aby of your hardware recently, if so you may need to reset the graphic setting for the games.
