A new crack from Razer 1911 lets you play Battlefield 3 without having Electronic Arts’ online gaming portal, Origin, running on your computer at the same time.
The crack has been posted on Reddit, and speculation among commenters as well as those of us here at Game Front is that using it will probably get you banned by EA. The whole idea of Origin being tied to BF3 is that EA gets a direct conduit to you and your play habits to advertise to you and sell you games. If you could play without it, it sort of defeats the purpose.
Still, it’s nice that in a world where game publishers seem to be headed toward more oppressive controls over how we play their games, there are skilled gamers out there working to undermine their efforts.
