For years I never knew what the black Interceptor in Mad Max was, so I finally did some searching and dug up this info. I knew the blower was fake in the movie, as it's impossible to run a supercharged engine with the supercharger off, but I had no idea how they rigged it up. The car is an Australian Ford model called an XB Falcon built between '74 and '76. It has a plain old 351 Cleveland motor in it with the fake blower rigged up over it. I guess you can still get kits to convert an old Falcon into this ride in Aussie.
