20 years ago Metallica were great.  They lost me at the Black Album.  Plus they are jerks.

Also Abram, I am the same way with Les Claypool as you are with Mike Patton.

I like a lot of music, mostly metal fan though, System of a down and Rage Against The Machine are at the top along with the best live band ever.....GWAR!!!!!!! And even though i'm a metal head, I am also a fan of Justin Timberlake,  now I know what your thinking but think about it, he is today's version of Frank Sinatra, he is a talented man in many aspects of the entertainment industry and he is willing to make fun of himself on Saturday night live. My two cents on Metallica is, the first three albums kill'em all, ride the lighting and master of puppets are the only albums i truly love, the rest is a watered down version of a once great band. Without cliff Burton the band lost its edge and have been trying like hell to cover up for it. Now they are just another band of rich un-angry, well adjusted mentally boring pile of crude pushing their mediocre new music onto the masses of sheep who will do as they are told. So glad i'm not a sheep. lol. I love music and there is so much good music out there, just keep an open mind and give it all a try.

Wow, what an eclectic mixture!
My personal faves:

AC/DC (I'm an Aussie......what more can I say)
Led Zepplin
Eagles
Doobie Brothers
Jack Johnson
George Thorogood
Most any kind of blues (Lightning Johnson, Howlin Wolf, Eric Clapton, Garry Moore)
Stevie Ray Vaughan
ZZ Top

Other Aussie bands that you may not have heard of:
Cold Chisel
John Butler Trio (outstanding muso's...)
Hunters and Collectors

I think that the above pretty much says that I was in my 20's during the 1980's.......

Thats pretty easy for me.  I like everything except for country.

But for the most part, I listen to Hip Hop and R&B.
