Highest frames per second?

What is the highest frames per second people are running at and for those with real good ones what processor, ram, and vid card are you using?

Does your setup require extra cooling and are you overclocked?

Do you think it has improved your game as far as shootouts speed?

Thinking of upgrading.

I'm running a $400 dollar refurbed HP with an $80 vid visontek HD 4650 card. Get about 33-50 FPS. Does it help in shootout speed. I'm doubting that. Also forgot to mention amd core duo like 1.85 Ghz which is below recommended COD 5 specs but because core duo it runs. 3 gig ram. Should have seen it with 1 gig. Would get disconnected all the time trying to connect to server. It functions *shrug*

My fps is not anything to shout out about, but I will answer your question about it helping in shootout speed. If you are refering to in a heated battle, then yes your fps really does help a lot. I find if my fps goes below 60, I am going to change my settings to keep it high. I would rather it look bad then have a low fps.

I run between 60-70 fps, sometimes dips below below that. For that FPS I find my game runs smooth and 95% of the time I don't lag.

As for my specs, I run a AMD triple-core processor, 4 gigs ram, and an 8800 GT video card, I find it is a very efficient setup that is cheap, and will probably be able to handle most stuff I throw at it for at least the next year and a half. As of right now I don't have anything over clocked, but I may look into it when/if things become choppy.

I usually run about 80-120fps depending on the map.
this setup I play on at home is not the one i use in my competitive gaming so it feels like it has a few stutters every now and then.

AMD Quad Core 9550 2.2ghz, 4gig g-skill ram, 9800gtx+

I also use a raptor harddrive for faster loading.

there are some good upgrades in a reasonable price range as long as you have the room to expand. any questions let me know!

I am normally getting between 40-60 fps, very occasionally in the 70s.  O'Reilly and I are talking about upgrades - it is about that time.

My understanding is that someone with a faster fps will spot you before you spot them, and thus have an advantage.  (At least I'm hoping that is actually true - I can't tell you how many times I press the trigger only to die a second before the gun fires.  lol)

I have a  p-4 3.4Ghz 800MHs FSB  2GB DDR and a 8600 GT OC vid card w/512MB GDDR3

and yes the FPS helps you get the edge on seeing, its your re action times that makes the difference .. I think

Hmm....Of course there is this.."The Quadro cards are explicitly NOT for gaming. They are for high-end realtime rendering of 3D development assetts, medical research displays and things of that nature.

They (and their drivers) are highly optimized for different tasks and not optimized for the types of shaders and effects used in games.

Comparing consumer-level 3D gaming cards to the Quadro product line would be like comparing a high-end sports car, like a Ferrari, to a high speed mag-lev bullet train. Both are powerful types of vehicles, but have vastly different purposes; the former being single user high-speed excitement, and the latter being multi-user, high-speed transport for massive projects."

According to the specs I saw my card SMOKES this card in any and all gaming applications.BUT I guess they did make one with more memory jsut not faster or better for games! Wink
