Wouldn't the big picture be, it's just a building who's designer probably didn't put much thought into the aerial view? Are people really offended by something like this? Would anyone really realize it without someone else pointing it out?
People need to chill out. Now someone has to spend thousands of dollars to change a symmetrical building that some people may think looks like a swastika. Ridiculous!
Regardless, that symbol is rooted in many different cultures. Perhaps the designer is one of the following:

Regardless, it should be a non issue. The shape of a building doesn't mean anything. It's just a retirement home...not the home of, say, the National Alliance.

Its shaped that way to let more sunlight into a greater amount of rooms ( more surface area ) without having to go UP two or three stories.Which it is an Old Age Home who wants to go up and down....
