You'll still get nice speeds on a SATA2 connection.

Think so? I've heard both ways. It''ll be good speed. or. It's not worth it cause no real benefits.

Oh yes, you'll get better speed saturation with an SSD than a 10k drive, no doubt about it. Plus, you'll surely get an sata3 mobo eventually. Technically, you could always connect that SSD to a  sata3 controller card and shove it into a pci-e slot. Though, 10k drives are still pretty darn fast. Though I find them a bit loud.

Me, I've still not bothered with an SSD. I had one in my rig for a few days to try it out. Sure, it booted to desktop very quickly, and games loaded a bit faster. But my 7200rpm still takes under 20 seconds to boot, I still am among the first batch of players to load a match, and I don't care if programs take an extra second to start up. Any large fielo moves in my case are big enough that I wouldn't want to keep them on an SSD anyway. Well okay, BF4 is the first time I've actually coem close to wanting SSD load times.

Tough..still considering a RAID setup when i get my taxes back.... I was hoping the PCI-E drives would become more popular by this time.

ABRAM!!! lol. Now I'm all kinda confused on what to get. SSD would be a better bet right? Lower power consumption, faster, more reliable as in no moving parts, and future proof. I dunno how to install OS on one though. HDD's are way easier. lol. I dunno how to put just OS on SSD and storage on the HDD. Is it a setup thing or just when I save files to put in the HDD? I need a drink.... Almost noon. lol.

Well you definitely don't want a bottleneck if you can avoid it. A nice warm 10k rpm Raptor will work just fine. SSD drives main advantage is load times, not gaming performance, so you won't suffer in game with a 10k HDD. Isn't a new build fun  Very Happy I love it when it comes time to upgrade... my wallet however screams in silent agony  Shocked
