Question. Are most of the "Solid State Drive's" out there about the same?? Or are there one or two brands that are a cut above the rest??

I recently hopped �for one, �and chose a Samsung 840 Pro. Price was fair, �speeds are nuts. �My second choice was an Intel. I also recently got a 60gb SSD for my HTPC. Since i only need faster read speeds, I bought myself an ADATA SP600 for a very nice price. When shopping, keep an eye on rite Speeds.  �Overall SSD reliability has been improved greatly.
But I'll add that the only real benefit i get from them is that some of the games that took a long to load (BF4 and Dayz), now load MUCH quicker. SSDs do not help with framerate, and it does not help with my handling of very large files, since i keep those on my platter drives. Yes, my PC boots stupidly quickly, and small applications load in a blink. But my platter drives are SATA3, and pretty quick. I load the COD games just a hair slower than SSD users do. All honestly, I only bought the Samsung because I missed buying HD7970 off of Three6 but a single day, and wanted to drown my sorrows in technology. Though I did end up getting a different one through him a few weeks back. Yay.
One more note: SSDs are at their best when your motherboard is in AHCI mode. Although this mode can be set after the OS is installed, it's not ideal, and a bit of a pain to do. You'd be best off with installing the drive, setting AHCI, adndoing a fresh OS install. No, do not clone your current one, as this will be no different from solely switchign the mobo to AHCI. Also maybe check for BIOS updates for anything related to SS, AHCI, or storage fixes.

Thank You. It seems that New Egg is running a SSD sale for the Intel SSD. I just wish I had the money to pick one op. There are some Great prices.

Go with Crucial, Intel ,Samsung or Kingston,
We use Crucial at work and they work great. Started using some Kingston no issues so far.
I have an Intel in my rig for over a year now without an issue.
