I have always wanted a COD like game for WW1, and the first one I have come across is on titled "Verdun" I bought it yesterday from Steam for $14...the graphics are NOT as good as COD or BF games, but good enough and I really like how it puts you in squads to work together. Also the developers have for almost two years continuing to make improvements in all the games elements.
Played it a couple of hours last night and once I got the hang of it, started getting kills and ranking up.
If your looking for an inexpensive FPS for a distraction before Hardline goes beta or live, you might want to check it out on Steam. I got a discount on the price by following a link in LevelCaps YouTube review of the game.

Good game actually. They just upgraded their graphics engine. The game is not complete yet, but it can only get better...

My biggest complaints are that I lag so much on some maps that it is unplayable. Also, I like to get out and attack so I have a hard time getting back to defend or get executed cuz I left c.o. Sphere of command. They need to lengthen the time for retreat and make sphere bigger I.m.o..

BoltAction, yea, I am totally with you on the "get back and defend" issue. I have resorted to NOT retreating, taking out as many of the enemy as I can until I am executed; since it is only a minus -15 points, normally I make out point wise and I do delay the enemies from the trenches...I am sure I am NOT the only one to do this and they need to do some fixes there...
