Go to the Start menu
Open your CMD promt
Once in the CMD

type the following

ipconfig  /release all

ipconfig /flushdns

ipconifg  /renew all

This will flush any bad DNs cache on the local machine. Also you may have a good amount of Maleware.

What stuff are you using to counteract these?

With ipconfig /release all I get "The operation failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for this operation"  Should this be done in my router?

As far as Malware I don't have a problem with it.  My firewall is on, I use CCleaner about two times a week, SpyBot every other day (before gaming) and Virus scan once a week.  Any suggestions for Malware protection?  Especially free. Smile

Weird, I can't see an initial post with the details on this. Sounds like your TCP stack is corrupted. Try the following...

In a command prompt type netsh winsock reset catalog  and enter

Then type netsh int ip reset reset.txt and enter

Reboot

This will reset your network stack fixing your winsock issues. If there's anything else wrong, cross that bridge after this fix.

Note: If you have a software firewall or other 3rd party (non-Windows) protection software and experience problems after this, re-installing the applications from scratch is advisable.

Rc7....hmmmm

I just recalled that I had a similar error when I installed vista64 on a machine I built for a co-worker  awhile back. After much hairpulling (figuratively speaking, I'm bald Very Happy )  I managed to resolve this.

Since i can't see an initial post describing the problem, could you answer a couple questions for me? If you run ipconfig in cmd prompt, what IP address do you get? Also, what make and model of router do you have?

EDIT - Er...I hope you don't mind me barging in to offer help. I can't help but wonder what problem prompted this thread. I saw you have this error message "The operation failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for this operation" on address renewal attempt. Normally this would be associated with an inability to get online, but I see Bullitt playing on the server now so either it's fixed or I'm missing something here, lol.

My router issued .146 for my IP.  Even after the errors it all works and my connection speed is slightly better but my pings to the server are much lower.  Average 40-50 on server one.  I was in the 70"s.  Not sure if it makes a difference.  I have a Linksys WRT54G with a DD-WRT V24sp1 bios flash.  By the way my version of Win7RC1 is 64bit.  Forgot to mention that.
