So the update on my computer.
Taz was kind enough to send me a card.
Didnt work. Not even the onboard video.
Took out the battery and reset the battery.
Went and got a new power supply.
nothing so far has worked.
Thoughts....suggestions....opinions.
At this point I am ready to throw the thing up in the air and smash it over the center field wall!

sounds like the pci e controller or south bridge is either bad or working intermittently may very well be that your board is on its way out sorry for the bad news

have u recently flashed or updated your bios there may be a fix for the issue in a bios update but i would suggest that you do some research first and read the patch notes on the most current bios update before flashing your bios

I cant get anything on my screen to do anything.
I have absolutely no video.
The computer turns on. It runs. But there is no video so how do I check anything?
Plugged it into the motherboard video output.
Nothing.
Tried my old card.
Nothing.
Tried the new card.
Nothing.
New power supply.
Nothing.
Took out the battery to rest the bios.
Nothing.

Tried a different hdmi cable? Sounds silly but cables do go bad too. Or even a different display too.

In Northbridge/Southbridge chipset architecture designs, the Southbridge is the chip that controls all of the computers I/O functions, such as USB, audio, serial, the system BIOS, the ISA bus, the interrupt controller and the IDE channels. In other words, all of the functions of a processor except memory, PCI and AGP

Gotta hope for easy fixes though even if they end up being the hardest to troubleshoot. Back in the pre-sata days I was losing my mind over a pc that just would not install Windows no matter what I did. After close to a week of swapping cd-roms, hard drives, and a brand new motherboard/cpu it turned out to be a faulty IDE cable. I was happy enough with my new gear though.

By any chance do you have a laptop? If so plug that in to your monitor and make sure that works before going nuts on your rig.
