I struggled for a very long time trying to keep the mic working in TeamSpeak and the workaround for this problem is to right click on the TeamSpeak icon and click on properties and in advanced checkmark the run as administrator and in compatability run as administrator and most importantly is to run as xp sp2.
I had tried x-fi, integrated and even ordered a new sound card and all is was: check the compatability box. If the green light doesn't come on and you have Vista give this a try. you still need to try wave and direct and best to have windows control panel set in properties and configured. Many of us have found answers to situations and are willing to share that news to others. If you have any tips please post it.

Mouro had a loud buzzing. He changed the 24 bit, 48,000 k to 16 bit and 44,000 k and that got rid of the background buzzing.
