I've got a question...in game play every so often my game seems to lag.. its smooth the rest of the time and then every once in a while it almost catches itself. Just wondering if there's anything I can do?

Static,

There are a bunch of things you can try, the hard part is tracking down what is causing it, and it is hard because it can be a ton of things.

First:

Reset your cable modem and router
Make sure your wireless devices are not on (example...the Wii once configured will use your wifi connection even with the power off)
Make sure your machine is not overheating (check CPU temp, video GPU temp etc - Clean out the dust bunnies in your machine!)
Run a speed check, are you getting a fast signal or are you suddenly seeing slower speeds
Turn on the FPS monitor and lag-o-meter in the game....where do you see the spikes?

I was dogged with similar problems recently, found the Wii was using my bandwidth, as soon as I unplugged it, the speed and smoothness in the game was back. Turns out my Wii was downloading the weather, system alerts, updates etc and just checking the web for stuff). Frustrating.

Good luck!

Bernard

if it is popping up at regular intervals, it may be some other program on your computer that is accession the 'net or using more of your computers resources.  maybe windows account settings, or possibly an antivirus program updating or checking?

well thats funny you can only disable it using a cmd command and it will not allow to reconnect untill it re-enabled so if you have a week signal it not very useful
