CPUID has some nice free system monitoring software.
PC Wizard shows you just about everything about your hardware, including temp, fan speeds.

Cpu-Z will tell you about your processor, memory and motherboard.

HWMonitor will tell you about temp, fan speed, and overall system health.

Best one I have come across so far is one called Everest. It monitors everything and can tell you almost anything about your system. It will show you fan speeds, HDD, CPU, GPU and SYS temps, show you all the specs on your hardware as well as capabilities of everything and even the timings you would need to adjust to modify the mHz on your RAM. I know you actually purchase the product it costs like $40, but I think there is a free version out there.
