suggestion for how to set up your controls

Ok so I've been hearing a lot of people complaining that you have to hold down the crouch button... and I was wondering why the heck it's so hard to hold down left control with your pinky finger. Well, I found out that those people switched their crouch key to C. I strongly suggest that you switch it back to left control and start getting used to it. You'll have much less trouble trying to crouch and it shouldn't be that hard to get used to.

Also, I suggest that people switch their melee key to either V, or something that's within easy access to your fingers. Middle mouse button just doesn't cut it.

Since they don't have prone that frees up my side mouse button for crouch

Just a heads up but they will be releasing a toggle crouch in the game itself. So just a reminder.

I generally use a side mouse button for melee, however I've found the middle button isn't bad as I am already using that for grenades in Call Of Duty games.  So pushing it is natural to me.

Like I said, people should change what they always use. It's not that hard.

funny enough, i've actually been able to almost do away with crouch all together... i use 'c' and I dont that's likely to change anytime soon, its pure reflex now.  same goes for middle mouse to melee.

Really its a 'do what is comfortable for you' thing.  If you really NEED to crouch right now, then try changing to 'ctrl', if you can put up with it for the few more days till the release, do that.

Or go play W@W, Bioshock 2, Mass Effect 2, MW2, L4D2... gah, there are a TON of good games out now...

ok so these are the keys I use  Cool

A = forward
Z = backward
Ctrl = strafe left
Alt = strafe right
X = jump
S = crouch
Spacebar = melee
Middlemousebutton = grenade
E = use

FOR COD5

Q = lean left
W = lean right

Not sure when I started using these...but they've always been my keys I use so....

I use a gaming mouse, set to crouch, stand, iron sight, reload,foward and fire. Keyboard, nade, sprint, peek left and right, move left, right and back next weapon pervious weapon. This is my set up sense COD. One reason I don't get a lot of kills. Left hand is all, but useless, and can't use my left eye. So if I'm attacked from the left 99% of the time I don't see it coming. Not complaining just a fact of life. Reason I say "if you get killed by me you really messed up"... Laughing
