Since I'm still new to multiplayer gaming, I've never understood the need for high dpi settings, I typically find myself using around 1000.  In my research it seems most veteran gamers use much higher dpi settings and mice manufacturers allowing up to 5600dpi.  For me it seems too 'twitchy' above my comfortable 1000dpi.

I realize this is a subjective issue to the individual, but looking for input from all on:

1.  What dpi do you use and WHY
2.  Do you change the dpi in game for different scenarios and WHY

Please fill out poll AND leave comments.

Thanks,
Cap

I have a Razer Lachesis mouse and have the dpi switches programed on the mouse so I can change the dpi on the fly.  For general play I use 3000 dpi and for sniping mode I toggle up to 4000.  It took a little getting used to but now I can't play without it.

I am with CadFather, 2200 dpi for most of the time, as long as I can spin 180 degrees in one swipe. I sometimes adjust higher for sniping but not always as it screws me up after I respawn.

I'm playing at 1400 for walking around and 1000-1200 for precision sniping. And as most of you know I move around quite a bit and don't have problems killing.

I'm with Paster Dan where would I find that information.  Do all mice/trackballs support low and high dpi.  I'm a trackball kid and well I dont think I need anything high to blow you up with C4.

This will work........

DPI is dots per inch, the higher the setting the less you have to move the mouse to cover the same distance on screen.  The settings can be adjusted through mouse software and most gaming mice have the capability to adjust 'on the fly' through a button push.

Where's all the feedback, there's a gazillion BK members and only a handful of feedback??

Let me sweeten the pot by adding that by providing feedback you are automatically entered  to win an awesome new gaming rig! Cool

Lol, mine are actually reversed from what I posted, higher for moving around and lower for sniping.  I guess it pays to go back and proof read what you are trying to say after the pain meds wear off, huh?

Hey CadFather, thanks for restoring my sanity Smile When you first posted it didn't make sense to me that you would want higher for sniping Shocked
