My company is using a $1000 voucher for me to update my computer - but the company order goes in this week - so I have to design it this week. I have been fooling around too long - just need to make a decision.  My current rig works - but I am having some cooling problems (on of the fans stopped working in the case) - which is a simple fix. However, it is just sluggest at this point. I play Black Ops (but at 1280x1024 resolution) with everything turned off  - to get the performance out of it.

I guess I can't complain if the company is ponying up $1000 for the rig - however I just need to get the order placed by Friday with all the other equipment. Just seeing if I can get the best bang for the buck.

FYI - this is what I ordered:

MOBO = ASROCK Z68 Extreme 4 (LGA 1155)
CPU = Core i5-2500k Sandy Bridge
GPU = MSI N570GTX Twin Frozr III
PSU = Corsair 750W
HD1 = VelociRaptor 150GB (10k RPM)
HD2 = VelociRaptor 300GB (10k RPM)
Mem - G.Skill Ripjaws 8GB (2x4GB)
Case = Antec 300 Illusion

Got it all for $1k (had a gift card - sort of).

I think you will enjoy your new toy, but why did you pick the 750W Corsair?...much better out there for the same price.  Just look up some comparisons, i'm not gonna starta  war by saying what i think you should buy, too many Corsair fans here Wink

No problem - I actually was balancing price vs. power vs. ratings on New Egg (had $1k to spend).  I am not a PSU guru - so brand this or that didn't carry much weight in the decision. I do have a Corsair in another rig, no problems with that one.

I am excited to get it and put it together - then maybe I can see what Black Ops looks like in something better than 1280x1024 with everything turned OFF.

Also getting ready for BF3 - which I think requires the next level in Direct X.
