Internet help needed....

So, I'm kinda like in the hospital again now for a few days. I obviously have internet access or I wouldn't be writing this...
Trouble is, I can't get Steam to connect. I'm on an open, unsecured wireless network. I was given a guest name and password and had to login as hospital guest before I could access the net. All internet works ok, it's just steam that won't connect, saying no internet access. Any ideas?
I have the campaigns to play, but I'm really gonna miss sneaking up on Abram and blapping him point blank Sad

Chances are that only the network ports for web browsing are open (80, 443 tcp). Steam a few other ports - see article below (if it doesn't open then port 443 is blocked)  ;-(

Thx Uchi, I'm guessing that's what happened then, they've blocked the ports that steam requires and I doubt they'll open it just so I can run around killing peeps Sad
Nevermind, I usually play 6 times better after a short break. I downloaded "Farming Simulator" before I came here, I'll go plough some fields and plant some pixels for the time being.
Thx again for checking up for me Smile

I know it sounds like a funny website, but it has some games that will keep you entertained for a long time.

www.crazymonkeygames.com

Ive seen the most strict security systems not catch this site.

Enjoy

Sounds crazy enough to be fun and monkey around with? I just got blocked from a web sight with a warning about weapons! I was just checking out a new green dot scope for an air rifle Sad
