WAW Update Issue

Maybe someone can help me figure out my problem. I recently reinstalled WAW, when I started to install the updates I get stuck at Codwaw 1.4-1.5. The message I get is that the update is already installed and I should uninstall this update before continuing. I can install the first few updates but nothing past this 1.4-1.5. When I open the game I'm shown that I'm updated to version 1.4. I have all the updates needed but I'm stuck.

Side Note:  I've cleaned my machine completely of the game and started over 3 time some far. I've done a search of anything to do with WAW and removed it from my machine and I still get this message. In fact I've gotten the same message for all the updates starting at 1.4-1.5.

Thanks Guys and Gals.

Zohan - just a quick reply, have you used a registry cleaner to get rid of all traces? I remember I had trouble when the patches first came out. Later today I'll pull up my files and check their names and sizes.

hey

this is what i use to clean up with-  http://www.piriform.com/CCLEANER  and like wes stated try a diff DL of that version of update. i would remove the game then run ccleaner to remove any left behind w@w files, restart and reload updates, i would try a diff copy of 1.4 and the next one to see if thats the hang up. also turn off anti any things off till done.

Thanks guys. I haven't tried a registry cleaner but it's worth a try. Secondly I've tried downloading fresh copies of the updates, but I'll try it again. Thanks guys for your input. I'll keep y'all informed   I hate not being able to play.  Very Happy

I would re-download all the patches from a different site. And if you have an ftp site, I can upload them all to you.
Worst comes to worst.. reinstall the whole game again and download the "ultimate" patch..which is all the previous patches
put in one pretty patch package. Now, eat a peanut butter sandwich and say that 5 times real fast..

You can get the ultimate patch here...

Thanks Peaches. So far I've uninstalled the WAW 3 times. I'll download the Ultimate Patch and hopefully that's will work.   I just can't get past the Patch 1.5 for some reason.

I had that issue before and it turned out one of the patches I had downloaded was bad. Once I went to a different site and redownloaded it, I reinstalled with no problems.

This is really getting to me now.  I've downloaded these updates from different website now. I've even installed the game on a different drive, that didn't work lol.

I can get all the updates to install up to ..v1.4. If I try v1.5 it tells me it's already install. So I go onto v1.6, it tells me the same thing. Now with that being said I go onto installing v1.7 well it tells me I should install v1.6 first.  OMGosh. I'm going crazy here.

I've uninstalled and deleted anything I could find on my machine. I'm going to try it one more time before I BLOW it UP

Any other suggestions ?

Thanks guys fir all the input so far.

actually believe your problem is the 1.2-1.3, if memory serves it was a bad patch and 1.2-1.4 was released shortly after. Dont know if you can just uninstall 1.2-1.3 or weather you need to remove all and start over not using that patch.

Zohan, I have been looking around on the net and found that your problem isn't unique. Quite a few people have encountered this same issue and the closest "fix" I've read that works is to backup your player profile then unistall the game, reboot, delete your now empty folder in the c drive.. now you should have no trace of cod on your machine reboot and reinstall the game, then install the "ultimate" patch 1.7 or install all the patches seperate but make sure you go in order. Anyway, it looks like it "might" have something to do with your player profile settings..OR you're trying to install a 32-bit patch on a 64-bit system, or vice versa.. Confused yet?  Confused

Hope this helps.
