Hey guys, long time, no talk....

Anyways, I just installed the BF3 Beta on my desktop and I'm trying to join games either through match making or picking a server, but I'm having no luck. If I click matchmaking, it gives me an error saying "failed to ping closest servers, please try again. If this happens frequently, check your firewall settings." Then when I try and join a server off the browser, it just says "joining game"  but it doesn't do anything after that.

Hi Strand. It happens to us all. Try logging off and restarting the origin client. I can't ping the European servers which are closest to me but got on a couple of rounds with Braxis yesterday on a north American one. Go figure.

this happend to me it was a setting within my firewall setting preventing firefox to doing something but after i allowed in and out going communication it worked for me and has done since

Actually I just used a different web browser and it worked...but I have a new issue. My game is at default 1920x1080 but I'm getting frame rate issues and lag when you start in the park, but in the menu when I try and change my res. it says no please select monitor and it wont let me save the changes I made. However when I'm underground the game runs beautifully, I think I may have to bite the bullet and upgrade my pc, my 5850 should be fine, just my processor/ram is bottle necking everything else. I may just try and sell my whole rig and then build a new one from scratch depending on what I can get for mine now.
