Weapon Damage adjusted based on Beta Feedback

"The Battlefield 3 beta is over and DICE has no doubt received a ton of input on all aspects of them game, especially the weapons in respect to their damage and accuracy. DICE’s lead designer, and weapon specialist Alan Kertz has revealed a lot of interesting news via his ever growing Twitter account.

Among the confirmations is that the damage dealt by SMGs has been adjusted, after many complained that the UMP-45 and the PP-2000 were overpowered in the beta. However, Kertz stated that the main damage model for the weapons overall has not been changed.

It’s not surprising that DICE adjusted some weapons based on beta feedback, however, many also complained that it’s far too easy to kill people in Battlefield 3 compared to previous games, and that it almost feels like a hardcore setting. This won’t change, according to Kertz. Speaking of hardcore, he confirmed that damage will increase about 50% when playing Battlefield 3 on hardcore mode."

Thank god, I like the weapons model they are using, it makes you play more tactical without making you feel like you have no chance.

yep. and I have to say (although i need to play hardcore to see the difference) part of me would like to keep it regular core on our servers, just to make it more of a challenge.  it forces you to be way more accurate with your shot placement.

My suggestion to BK is the same as it was for BC2; normal for the first couple of months (ish), then switch to hardcore Idea   I like doing this for any new game, helps me to get familiar with controls/game/maps without dying quite as easily Exclamation

Wow! 50% increase on damage on HC mode is alot. Sounds sort of like a 1 shot 1 kill scenario  to me. Not sure if that is good or bad, but sounds bad to me. But, we will have to play it and see just what the difference really is.  Then adjust as needed, or if needed.

Hardcore from the start, I don't want vehicles and people healing without medics and engineers, one shot kills will add more strategy and realism to the game.

I think hardcore is the only way I want to play.  I really dislike the survivable damage of normal mode.
