Not 100% if it's based on the Beta at all, but every reference to it that I've found was in November... Whether or not the values are accurate, there 's some neat info in it.

This explains alot.  

SV98 Damage at 1m is 75.

How is it a 50cal round at almost point blank range would only cause anything besides total destruction.  Or am I reading that wrong.

because (A) - the sv98 is not a .50 cal its a 7.62x54r  

also (B) - the total health in Hardcore is 60, so anything with a damage score over that is in fact a 1 shot kill.

for the record, there is no .50 cal man-portable weapon in this game.  the biggest cal rifle is the m98b, which is .338LM (still an amazingly powerful round)
