Battlefield 3 has been banned in Iran and Iranian Police has arrested shop owners for secretly selling the game there, according to a report.
Click to view larger image The game has been outlawed over its fictional depiction of US' invasion of Tehran. Battlefield 3 isn't officially available in the region but pirate copies of popular games are commonly widely available.

Considering the other things that aren't allowed in Iran, this ranks pretty low on the list of priorities. Human rights, schmuman rights.

Well its not the first country to ban a video game because of its content...Russia banned Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 because of the mission where you kill all the civilians at the airport because the airport was based in Russia! Seems pretty lame to me.
