Apparently if you have a heavy barrel and the M26 attachment, it will shoot the darts as one straight-facing wide shot. This is a bug that Dice will apparently fix in the next patch.
Can anyone confirm this?
If this is true, I move that we disallow the combo until Dice fixes it in the patch. I do know I've been getting killed a lot by BK using the M26 Dart; I'll see next time if they also have the heavy barrel.

I'm pretty sure this is a documented bug with the weapon. I'd second your motion.

hmm, hadnt really noticed a problem with it, but then I haven't been playing all that much lately... I looked up a couple of videos of it, and it seems pretty similar but less recoil to what happens if you use the darts (or slugs) on the 870MCS (but maybe that just me, I do love me my 870).
But, w/e, if y'all want to make it a violation, fine with me. I don't use it anyways, so makes no nevermind.

I know on another server I was playing on it was VERY evident something was up with one dude's darts. It was a one shot kill every time no matter the distance.

I certainly agree that if there's a known bug that gives and unfair advantage, then we should definitely not allow it - just like the MAV riding.
THough I've not yet been killed by this combination, myself. Lucky me?

I noticed that this weapon was killing lots of players but I don't know they were at long distance.

Not to derail the thread, but has MAV riding actually been killed off? So far, I've been fortunate enough to not encounter the M26 situation.

I thought that the recent server patch stopped MAV riding when prone. I am seeing other servers warning against using the m26 attachment.

"True to the Battlefield spirit, the latest Battlefield 3 patch fixed a lot of thing, but it also included a few bugs on its own. And you have most likely come across that bug while playing the game: the M26 MASS attachment for the assault class is way overpowered due to a glitch. When the M26 is equipped with DART ammunition and the underslung grenade launcher, each dart deals full damage of the main rifle. Which means instant-kills across most ranges.
But DICE is aware of the issue, and according to Gustav Halling (via Twitter), the M26 glitch will be fixed in an upcoming patch. However, he didn’t give a timeline as to when we can expect the patch. Needless to say, the patch can’t come soon enough, as the M26 glitch is getting out of hand already. Given how long it took for previous patches to be released, it looks like we’ll have to live with this for a little while."
Well hopefully we won't have to put up with it for long.

Players can attach the M26 Mass to the underslung rail of an assault rifle with a heavy barrel and Dart, in order to exploit. However, our servers have always allowed all weapons since I started (to the best of my knowledge).
I recommend that we watch for players using the specific combination, and allow admins to decide whether or not the player is abusing the exploit. If the combination, or M26 mass alone, was temporarily banned on Polite & Friendly servers, then we would still need to watch for players using it. I'd rather allow players to continue playing without restrictions, since it is a very specific combination that is not widely used in my experience (except on some TDM servers), and admins can make the call if someone is using the combination.
