I have been beta testing it at work and I have no intentions of ever using Windows 8 on my desktop at home.

In my opinion Windows 8 is perfect for a tablet and thats it.

Probably not even perfect for tablets. I couldn't stand it either. I will stick with windows 7/Linux mint/osx.

Over all W8 would be great, if they has some sort of emulator to allow you to still have a start menu like theyve had for the last 15 years.

My company looks as though it will be one of the first to roll-out to about 50,000 machines.
(we've been running 7 for about a year now, and before that, XP for the last 10 years!)

What do you need Windows 8 for?  I mean really it's for touch screens.

I have run the Beta as well. Not impressed for the PC - I agree with Silent Wolf looks good for tablets.

Well, so far I installed Win8 about 7 hours ago... countless restarts later, I feel like I'm back with Windows 3.0. Not 3.1

I'm hoping the tech makes it to tablets so my sales staff can use tablets online through my online order interface to place orders for my customers. That would save them a ton of time. Other than that , I'll stick with 7 for the PC for now.

I love windows 8. If your using xp or vista why not upgrade for $69. I downloaded "Classic Shell" and it bypasses the tiles and makes it feel like good old windows with the desktop.  The metro system is not that bad once you get used to it though.  If you want to chat about it hit me up in TS.

This maybe information everyone will find interesting.  I have been running benchmark compare test between Win7 and Win8.  This benchmarks including May 2012, SolidWorld2012, Viewperf 11, 3Dmark11/06 and some others.  At this point Win8 has lower performance then Win7.

Just an FYI.
