Hello BK, I was looking into hard drives and found this deal 99.99 with special promo codes but i was also thinking about solid state drives as well.  I want to keep it below 100 bucks.  Any insight?

3tb for 100 bucks? Yup, that's a pretty nice price. Not sure how reliable Toshiba drivers are, though. But they've been around for some time, and their optical drives are awesome. Personally, I've little interest in SSD drives. I rarely shut my PC off, and all my games start up pretty quickly anyway. If i'm even dealing with huge files (Blur-rays and such), it'd be on a platter drive anyway. But many people love them, so if you find a good deal.. take it. Just be sure it's a later generation. Or an Intel.

If this is going to be your only hdd I would suggest getting two instead of just one incase it fails you still got a hdd to use etc. from my experience toshiba generally are good workhorses

That seems to be a good deal.  You could do much worse then a Toshiba, but not much worse.  For the price, its a great deal.

Once thing you need to make sure of is if your motherboard will support 3TB and keep in mind that with W7 you need to setup 3TB differently to see the majority of the 3TB.  Do some googling before you commit to something that big.

I do have a 2TB external and can also use my current 600GB sata II as a back up too.  I'm not sure If I want to use the sata II and sata III in a raid array. My mobo supports large hard drives and has raid technology.  I'll find out what kind of steps I need to do to a 3TB and windows 7 setup.  Abram not sure how to know if its a later gen or Intel?
